Tango Extend for Webex CallingMobile Unified Communications (Mobile UC) has become a “must have” for many enterprises.

Two recent milestones achieved by our Tango Extend solution underscore this important industry trend.

First was the launch of Tango Extend for Webex Calling, empowering Cisco Certified Mobile Calling Providers to offer a native mobile communications solution for Webex customers. Alongside Extend’s support for Microsoft Teams, the new functionality means Extend now brings native mobile integration to the vast majority of business communications deployments around the world.

The second milestone was the announcement in December that we have been honored to receive Frost & Sullivan’s 2024 Technology Leadership Award in the cloud-connected mobile UC industry.

Both milestones are signs of the increasing importance of Mobile UC in today’s business world: top quality mobile communications are essential to efficient business operations.

Native Mobile for Cisco Webex

Cisco partners in the Cloud Connect for Webex Calling program can now offer Mobile UC to over 16 million Webex Calling users.

“Tango Extend for Webex Calling aspires to deliver business calling features directly to mobile phones, eliminating the need for a separate app,” explained UC Today in covering the news. “Tango Networks and Cisco say that the solution is particularly valuable for frontline, deskless, and hybrid workers in industries such as delivery, retail, transportation, logistics, and in-home services.”

Our technology allows enterprises to add a business eSIM to any device, including personal BYOD phones, enabling separate business and personal identities on one phone for secure communications. Phone number management and eSIM provisioning in Webex Control Hub enable enterprises to serve more hybrid and frontline workers.

New Tango Extend Solution: Global Mobile Unified Communications with Cisco Webex Calling

The first six certified providers launching the service are AudioCodes, CallTower, PureIP, NTT, Nuwave, BCM One, and Tata Communications.

Businesses can integrate remote workers into their Webex UC ecosystem, managing mobile and fixed communications centrally. Cisco partners can also benefit from Tango Extend’s global reach and simplified billing, with Global Pass offering coverage in multiple countries under one plan, eliminating “bill shock.”

Major Industry Award Highlights Innovation

Tango Extend, incorporating cutting-edge fixed-mobile convergence technologies, has earned over 100 patents and 12+ awards for best new products and channel solutions.

In the most recent award, Frost & Sullivan recognized Tango Extend for its “feature-rich mobile communications solutions,” emphasizing its flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and strategic partnerships with mobile operators, resellers, and UC providers as key growth drivers.

As organizations adopt cloud telephony and UCaaS solutions to enhance collaboration among distributed teams, many are replacing desk phones with software-based calling and mobile services.

Elka Popova, VP of Connected Work Research at Frost & Sullivan, said, “Tango Extend, Tango Networks’ flagship business mobility solution, delivers integration of mobile devices with leading PBX and UCaaS solutions, including Microsoft Teams and Webex Calling to provide businesses with maximum flexibility and choice.”

Frost & Sullivan noted in the announcement that Tango Extend’s innovation delivers mobile UC to underserved groups like frontline and field workers.

Tango Networks Receives Enabling Technology Leadership Award

The analysis firm noted that Tango Extend integrates mobile devices with PBX and UCaaS solutions, offering flexibility and enabling businesses to use existing landline numbers without apps or MDM. Leveraging high-quality voice channels of modern mobile networks, it ensures superior business-class calling through native phone dialers.

Featuring the most advanced implementation of fixed mobile convergence technologies, Tango Extend supports many use cases for a distributed workforce including frontline workers and knowledge workers. Tango Extend is used for mobile workforce communications, and programs for remote working, work from home, telecommuting and business continuity.
