Tango Extend now supports full mobile integration to Webex Calling, allowing a new set of Certified Mobile Calling Providers to deliver their Webex Calling number via native Mobile UC experience to their Enterprise customers.
Any Certified Calling Provider can become a Certified Mobile Calling Provider via a commercial relationship with Tango Networks and validation from Webex. Many of the Webex Certified Calling Providers are already Tango Partners for MS Teams, and are able to sell and provision Tango Extend mobile service plans. Now they can extend this mobile offering to over 16 million Webex Calling users.
At launch six Certified Mobile Calling Providers will be rolling-out Tango Extend enabled mobile services, with their own Webex Calling numbers, mobile plans and branding. The first joint partners to bring the service to market are AudioCodes, CallTower, PureIP, NTT, Nuwave, and Tata Communications. With fast eSIM provisioning using Webex Control Hub – Enterprises will be better positioned to serve a greater number of Hybrid and Frontline workers and meet the ever growing demand for mobile collaboration.
“I am very excited that by including Webex Go entitlement with the Webex Calling Professional License and having our ‘Certified Calling Providers’ partner with Tango Networks, it will benefit our customers with increased mobile options. These include expanded global coverage and better alignment from our Cloud Connect for Webex Calling Providers to upsell their PSTN solutions onto the preferred device – the Mobile Phone, for many of our Webex Calling Subscribers. The new ‘Certified Mobile Calling Provider’ designation within our Cloud Connect for Webex Calling program is an exciting new opportunity for our joint partners. These customers are looking to address compliance requirements and wanting to give their hybrid and mobile workers the power of Webex in the palm of their hands.”

Tango Extend leverages eSIMs, which almost all modern mobile phones support.
They are more environmentally friendly, much faster to deploy and in fact the latest Apple devices no longer support physical SIMs. Our collaboration with Cisco enables an eSIM to be installed in a smartphone, including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) personal phones as a second ‘Business’ line, simply by scanning a QR code. Users can then use the phone’s native dialer to place business calls and send SMS texts using an existing or new Webex mobile or landline number.
By adding an additional business eSIM to any device, our unique technology enables dual business and personal numbers and identities on the phone, ensuring business and personal communications remain completely separate and secure. This alone meets many users’ needs to carry one device, which they can use for both personal and business use.
Additionally – by deploying BYOD in this way, enterprises of virtually any size can save significant communications costs by reducing the number of desk phones and company provided mobile phones, whose numbers are not integrated with the Webex platform.
Also – with the global reach of Tango Extend and a simple mobile subscription plan, Webex Calling users on the new Extend-based offerings can travel seamlessly in over 40 countries, without any roaming charges.
Extend-enhanced Webex brings business calling features to the mobile phones of many more frontline, deskless, and hybrid workers – all without a separate App.
Frontline workers, in particular in fields such as delivery, retail, transportation, logistics, and in-home services, have struggled to remain connected engaged with their colleagues and customers.
In a study we commissioned earlier this year, Cavell Group surveyed more than 800 Frontline workers at companies in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Spain, and the Netherlands. The results showed that half of these workers already use their personal mobile phones for work.
Furthermore, the survey found that more than 75% of the employers said they permit personal devices to be used for work.
But 96% of employers said they would allow new business eSIMs on their personal mobile phones to replace traditional desk phones. And 87% of the polled employees said they would be prepared to use a business provided, business paid eSIM with a business number on their own personal phones.
Now these transformational initiatives are in easy reach of Webex Calling users thanks to our new support with Tango Extend.
