The Challenge
Margins in pest control are tight, and the phone bill shows it: desk phones nobody sits at, company cell phones bought so customers would not see personal numbers, and expense claims for the technicians who use their own anyway.
The customer experience leaks the same way. A call-ahead from a personal number goes unanswered; a callback about this morning's treatment lands on whichever phone made it, not the branch; and when a technician leaves, the customers who saved that number are ringing someone who no longer works there.
The Solution
Each technician carries a business line on their own phone, delivered by eSIM. Call-aheads and follow-ups show the branch's number — the one on the truck and the invoice — so customers answer, and the technician's personal number never enters the conversation.
The line is an extension of the company's phone system. A customer calling back reaches dispatch or the branch, where the call can be routed to whoever is nearest, rather than dying in a voicemail on a truck. Scheduling changes reach the technician on one number the office actually controls.
