Engineering and Maintenance Dispatch
Air conditioning out in 412. A leak in the spa. A lift alarm at two in the morning. Engineering is a dispatch operation running across a building that was never designed as an office, and the technician is almost always somewhere the phone system does not reach.
The work order gets there by pager, by radio, or by somebody walking. The callback to the guest goes out from the technician's own mobile. This use case sets out what changes when the business line sits on the phone the technician already carries.

The Challenge
A work order has to reach one technician, not a channel. Radios and paging broadcast to everyone, which means the person nearest the fault hears it alongside four people who cannot act on it, and nobody is accountable for the one that gets missed.
The callback is the second problem. When a technician rings a guest to say when they will be up, or rings a contractor to get a part, the number that appears belongs to the technician. The guest now holds a private cell number for a member of staff, and the property holds no record of the conversation at all.
The Solution
Each technician carries a business line delivered by eSIM to the handset they already own. The line is an extension of the property's phone system, so a work order can be routed to an individual, to a duty rota, or to a hunt group that rolls over when the first technician is already under a sink.
Outbound, the property's number is what the guest or the contractor sees. The technician's own number stays private, which removes the awkward conversation about giving it out and the more awkward one about a guest ringing it a week later.
Mobile coverage does the work that a repeater used to. A basement plant room, a roof void and a detached banqueting suite are all on the same network as the rest of the estate, with no new infrastructure to install or maintain.
What Changes
The first change is accountability. A work order goes to a person rather than a channel, so the question of who picked it up has an answer rather than a shrug.
The second is the boundary. Guests and contractors deal with the property's number, and a technician who leaves takes no relationships with them by accident. The number stays with the property; the handset stays with the person.
The third is the history. Because the calls run through the platform, a dispute about what was promised and when has a call record behind it instead of two recollections that disagree.
